Actually, I've only seen such ticks on dogs in Malaysia...the ticks can be so huge that it's easy to pluck them off the dog and squash them on the floor.

I would think the ticks would kill the dogs if they stay on the dogs long enough. Are you sure they are ticks not fleas?

I've never seen such a huge tick before.

Once my dog got a tick attack from my neighbour's dog Evil or Very Mad
The bites got infected and it was a hell of a problem getting him treated

that was once my ex-dog had ticks, my mom and I spent the entire picking ticks off him and had fun crushing the ticks.. we challenged each other to the numbers of ticks we can kill. Laughing

I've seen them on dogs in the small towns in Johore...so fat and fleshy from all that blood-sucking that when you squash them, you can see fresh blood. The ticks were so obvious that we just had to try to pluck as many of them off the poor dog... Confused
